Beach Maternity & Some Exciting News

I have so many unblogged sessions it’s really hard to know where to start to catch up. Today I’ve ended up going with my sister’s beach maternity session. We made the trip down to one of our favourite places on the South Coast last winter. And all of the images are beautiful! Much like my sister, really. And don’t you just adore her hat? We actually found this in a store in Huskisson on the way to the beach.

We did this session at Plantation Point in Vincentia, on the night of the blood moon. It was also fortunately quite mild for July and my sister was happy to brave the water!

I just love maternity sessions and I have a gorgeous and ever growing collection of maternity gowns for use by my clients. Many of which can be styled in a variety of ways. I can also arrange hair and makeup packages if required.

My other exciting news is that we have recently moved and this move has allowed me the space to create my own newborn and maternity studio. This is a really exciting development for my business. I look forward to having this ready to open early in 2019.

Having a baby in 2019? My newborn sessions currently include a bonus mini maternity session. Get in touch to make a booking.

Baby F {Goulburn Newborn Photographer}

I was lucky enough to do a family/maternity session for this family, so I was really looking forward to this newborn session. I just couldn’t have asked for better! Baby Frankie was a very settled and content baby. Her older brother was very excited to introduce me to his new sister. He was also very keen to get his photo taken (although it may have taken a few chocolate bribes).

I’ve had a lot of enquiries lately for newborn sessions, which is amazing! Newborn photography is definitely something I am truly passionate about. So I thought I would include some information and tips to help prepare expectant mums for their sessions. Expectant mums usually get in touch to pencil in their due date 2-3 months before baby is due. This helps me plan my sessions and bookings. It also gives us the opportunity to book in a maternity session. Check out the sneak peek from my most recent maternity session here.

I typically shoot my newborn sessions under 2 weeks of age and ideally around the 5-6 day mark. The reason for this is mainly because babies are quite sleepy at this age and are able to be posed more easily. I also know having a new baby in your house is an adjustment and exhausting, so I always let parent’s know its perfectly ok to wait until you are settled at home before touching base with me to officially book in our session.

I typically will come to you for your session. We really only need to have a small space with good natural light in order to do our session. It’s also really lovely to be in your own environment. And to feel comfortable feeding and settling your baby in your own space. I will always work with your baby and as I’ve often said my focus is always primarily on the safety and comfort of the baby and mother I am working with.

Interested in booking your own newborn session?

I would love to hear from you and remember for a limited time all newborn sessions include a bonus 30 min maternity session. Book here

Twilight Maternity { Goulburn Maternity Photographer }

I love maternity sessions. When I was pregnant with each of my boys it was never on my radar as a ‘thing’ to do and I was incredibly self conscious of how enormous I felt. I may be only small but I was blessed with rather large babies (especially my last!) and that sure showed. Looking back now and it is definitely something that I wish I had given some thought to.  So I love it when pregnant women come to me and are interested in capturing this amazing time.

Winter is such a gorgeous time to shoot. The short days mean no waiting around until late to make use of the perfect late evening light. This session was held just before 5 and the light was so gentle and pretty. And the colours of the twilight sky were just so gorgeous, we couldn’t have asked for better. We were also lucky enough to capture the rising full moon – just amazing!

I also love how we were able to include the older brother in our session. He is clearly very excited and proud to be welcoming a new baby in to his family very shortly. He also very obviously adores his mum, and how wonderful to be able to capture that relationship for them.

Pregnant & considering a maternity session?

For a limited time only if you book a newborn session with me you will also receive a bonus 30 minute maternity session*. This is a great way to celebrate and capture your pregnancy prior to the arrival of your gorgeous little bundle.

Gorgeous Goulburn Maternity Session

I have known this beautiful mum for at least five years. She has lovingly looked after and nurtured each of my boys. Her sweet little boy also happens to be a good friend of my second youngest son.

I was so lucky to be able to take some maternity photos for her. At the time of our session she was 36 weeks and simply glowing.

I also love watching how a family interacts. You can easily tell this little boy is very well loved and brings an enormous amount of joy to his parents. I could blog so many of the photos from this session but I have had to restrain myself.

PS Don’t you just love Goulburn in the spring? I know I do.
